About the Personality Number
The Personality Number is one of the core numbers in numerology. It is calculated from the consonants in your full birth name and describes your outer persona — the impression you make and how other people perceive you before they get to know the real you.
How it is calculated
Each consonant in your name is given a value from the Pythagorean system (B=2, C=3, D=4 … and so on). The values are added together and reduced to a single digit, while the master numbers 11, 22 and 33 are kept as they are.
How it differs from the other name numbers
- Personality — the consonants. Your outer persona and first impression (the public you).
- Soul Urge — the vowels. Your inner motivations and emotional needs.
- Expression — all the letters. Your overall talents and life direction.
For a clear, repeatable result this calculator treats Y as a consonant. Some numerologists count Y as a vowel when it sounds like one — if you prefer that reading, weigh the result accordingly.
How to use it
Read your Personality number as the "doorway" to who you are — the part of you the world sees first. It is a tradition for reflection and self-understanding, not a guarantee of outcomes. For a complete reading, also work out your Soul Urge and Expression numbers, or consult a qualified numerologist.
