Kajari Teej, jise Satudi Teej ya Bhaadon Teej bhi kehte hain, Bhadrapad maas ke Krishna paksha ki Tritiya ko manaayi jaati hai. Suhaagin striyaan is din pati ki deerghaayu aur parivaar ke kalyaan ke liye vrat rakhti hain. Iski prachalit katha ek nirdhan Brahman parivaar ki hai.
Ek gaon mein ek Brahman apni patni ke saath rehta tha. Ghar mein nirdhanta itni thi ki do waqt ke bhojan ka bhi prabandh kathin tha. Teej ke din Brahman ki patni ne vrat rakha aur sandhya samay pati se kaha — "Aaj Kajari Teej hai. Mujhe vrat kholne ke liye satu (chane ke aate ka satua) chahiye. Aap chaahe jaise ho, satu ki samagri le aaiye, taaki mera vrat poora ho." Patni ke vrat ki laaj rakhne ki chinta mein Brahman vyaakul ho uthha, par ghar mein to phooti kaudi bhi na thi.
Raat ho chali thi. Patni ka vrat adhoora na reh jaaye, isliye Brahman chupchaap nagar ke ek seth ki dukaan mein ghus gaya. Usne poori imaandaari se theek utna hi chana, ghee aur gud tola jitne se kewal satu ban sake — ek daana bhi adhik nahi liya. Par tabhi aahat sunkar dukaan ke rakhwaalon ne use pakad liya aur chor samajhkar shor macha diya.
Seth ke saamne laaye jaane par Brahman ne haath jodkar sachchaai bata di — "Main chor nahi hoon. Aaj meri patni ka Kajari Teej vrat hai. Ghar mein dhan na hone par bhi uske vrat ki laaj rakhne ke liye maine kewal satu bhar ki samagri uthhaayi hai, aur kuch nahi." Seth ne uski talaashi li to baat sachhi nikli — Brahman ne sach mein avashyakta se ek kan bhi adhik na liya tha.
Brahman ki sachchaai, swaabhimaan aur vrat ke prati nishtha se seth ka hriday pighal gaya. Usne na kewal Brahman ko aadar sahit kshama di, balki use anaaj, vastra, dhan aur satu ki saari samagri bhetkar samman ke saath vidaa kiya. Brahman dampati ka vrat sukhpoorvak sampann hua, aur Maa ki kripa se unke ghar se nirdhanta door hokar sampannta aa gayi.
Seekh: Kajari Teej ka vrat suhaag, santaan aur parivaar ke kalyaan ke liye rakha jaata hai. Sachchaai, imaandaari aur shraddha se rakha gaya vrat sada shubh phal deta hai — vipatti mein bhi dharm aur satya ka maarg nahi chhodna chahiye.
