What kind of house entry does this cover?

All three that the texts name - Apurva, entering a newly built house for the first time; Sapurva, returning to your own house after a long absence; and Dwandwa, re-entering after repair or rebuilding. The muhurat rules are the same in each case.

Why is there nothing between August and October?

Because Griha Pravesh is not done in Chaturmas, the four months from Devshayani to Devutthana Ekadashi, nor in the months the texts reject for house entry. That is why the season concentrates in Magha, Phalguna, Vaishakha and Jyeshtha, with a second run after Devutthana.

What is done on the day?

The Vastu Shanti and Ganesh puja, the kalash brought in with the milk boiled over so it flows towards the east, the Navagraha havan where a pandit is called, and the first cooking in the new kitchen. Keep the puja within the shubh window; the rest of the day can follow at its own pace.

Does the direction of the house matter for the date?

Not for the muhurat itself, which is decided by tithi, nakshatra and vaar. Direction belongs to the Vastu assessment of the house, which is a separate matter and better settled before you move in than by shifting the date.

How far ahead does this list go?

The page always shows this year and the next one. On 1 January the past year drops off and the new year is filled from the Panchang, so you do not wait for a yearly update.

Can I enter on an unlisted day if I must?

Where a possession date or a lease leaves no choice, the usual practice is to make a token entry with the kalash and the puja on a listed day and move the household later. A pandit can also give a short window on an unlisted day if the panchang allows it. A listed house-entry window is a ceremony muhurat, not the day's full almanac - today's tithi, sunrise and Rahu Kalam sit on the Panchang, any-work windows on My Muhurat Today, and the other ceremonies on Muhurats.

Griha Pravesh is the housewarming rite of stepping into a new home for the first time with a puja - often Ganesha, Vastu Purusha and a havan according to family custom. A muhurat for entry is chosen when the Moon, tithi and nakshatra are traditionally supportive for a new beginning in a dwelling, and when the weekday is not barred. This page lists those dates with the shubh time window, nakshatra and tithi so you can shortlist before you book the priest and the movers.

Muhurat is not Vastu and it is not a building inspection. A shubh date does not fix a structural fault, a legal title problem, or a damp wall. Registration, loan papers and a survey belong to the lawyer and the bank. If you still need a date to buy the property rather than enter it, that is a different list: property purchase muhurat.
