The basic samagri (materials) needed for the foundation of popular Hindu pujas, vrats and festivals — each list with English and Hindi item names and a downloadable PDF checklist.

Deity Pujas

Basic samagri to perform a foundational puja for a specific deity at home — Ganesha, Shiva, Lakshmi, Vishnu, Durga and more.

Vrat Pujas

Samagri for popular fasting-day pujas — Vaibhav Lakshmi, Karwa Chauth, Santoshi Mata and Mahashivratri.

Festival Pujas

Samagri for the big festival pujas — Navratri, Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, Janmashtami, Chhath and Vishwakarma Puja.

About Puja Samagri Lists

Before any puja it helps to gather the samagri — the materials, offerings and ingredients used in the ritual. Each list here gives the basic, foundational samagri for a specific deity, vrat or festival, with both the English and the common Hindi name of every item so it is easy to read and to shop for.

Open any puja and you will find the common puja essentials that nearly every ritual needs (chowki, kalash, roli, akshat, diya, flowers, naivedya and so on), followed by the items special to that puja. You can tick items off as you collect them, share the list, or download a printable PDF checklist. Regional and family traditions vary, so treat these as a practical starting point rather than a fixed rule.
