Who we are
The site is run by the Hindu Calculator team. Editorial guides and the more sensitive Q&A tools are reviewed by Astro Arpita Nath, a practising Vedic astrologer who reads charts with Parashari and Jaimini methods and answers reader questions on this site. Instant chart chat with Pandit Ji and Mata Ji is a separate, computer-generated reading from the same birth-chart engine - not a substitute for her written answers.
You can write to us from the Contact page. Corrections to a calculation or a guide are welcome; we would rather fix a page than defend a mistake.
How the calculations are done
Planetary positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris, the same high-precision engine used by professional astrology software, with the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa for sidereal (Vedic) signs. That is why a Lagna, Rashi or Nakshatra here is meant to agree with an Indian Panchang, not with a Western tropical Sun-sign column. Panchang elements are computed at the local sunrise of the city you choose, so timings follow the Indian day at that place.

What is free, and what is paid
Every calculator, every hymn (Chalisa, Aarti, Stotram, Mantra, Vrat Katha), every regional calendar, the daily Panchang and Rashifal, and the astrology guides are free. You do not need an account to use them. An account is optional: it saves charts across devices and keeps paid reports in one place.
Paid products are optional add-ons for people who want more than a single calculator result:

How to read a result
The astronomy is precise. Astrology is interpretation. A yoga, a dosha or a dasha describes a tendency and a season - not a medical diagnosis, a court outcome or a guaranteed income. For those, see a doctor, a lawyer or a qualified adviser. Jyotish sits alongside that work. It does not replace it.
For an accurate chart, enter the exact birth time (AM and PM matter) and pick the birth city from the suggestions so latitude, longitude and timezone are correct. If a result is confusing, start with the guides rather than another calculator: they explain the ideas the tools are using.
