A stock-market investment muhurat applies the classical Hindu science of electional timing (muhurta) to trading and investing — choosing an auspicious window in the day to place trades, open positions or commit money to the market. Because markets trade only on weekdays, this tool shows the best intraday windows for each trading day from Monday to Friday, computed from your location's own sunrise and sunset.
The role of the Labh Choghadiya
The day from sunrise to sunset is divided into eight Choghadiya windows, each ruled by a planet. The Labh Choghadiya is ruled by Mercury (Budha) and literally means "gain" — it is the classical muhurat for business, trade, money matters and profit, which makes it the prime window for share-market activity. The Amrit (Moon) and Shubh (Jupiter) Choghadiya are also auspicious and supportive of important financial decisions.
Abhijit Muhurat
The Abhijit Muhurat is a short, highly auspicious window centred on midday (solar noon). It is considered victorious for almost any important undertaking, so it is a strong secondary window for decisive trades — except on Wednesday, when Abhijit is traditionally not observed.
Why Wednesday and Thursday are favoured
Each weekday carries the influence of its ruling planet. Wednesday is ruled by Mercury (Budh), the planet of trade, calculation and commerce, and Thursday by Jupiter (Guru), the planet of wealth and expansion — together the two most favourable weekdays for the share market and investment. Monday (Moon) and Friday (Venus) are also favourable for money matters, while Tuesday (Mars) is energetic but more volatile, so trade with extra care.
How to use it
Pick the weekday you plan to trade, favour its Labh window (and the Amrit, Shubh or Abhijit windows), and steer clear of the Rahu Kalam, Yamaganda and Gulika Kalam periods. Use the city search or "Detect my exact location" so the timings match your own sunrise and sunset.
