How are these wedding dates chosen?

By the classical vivah lagna rules of the muhurta texts, as published in the almanacs: the Moon in a nakshatra fit for marriage - chiefly Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, the three Uttaras, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Mula and Revati - on a permitted tithi, with the shubh window given for each day.

Why are there no dates in some months?

Three blocks close the marriage season. Kharmas, while the Sun passes through Sagittarius and Pisces; Chaturmas, from Devshayani to Devutthana Ekadashi; and the periods when Jupiter or Venus is combust, since a marriage is not fixed without one of those two visible. Add an Adhik Maas and the gap can run for months.

How far ahead can I plan?

The page always shows this year and the next five. On 1 January the past year drops off and a new year is added, so the book-ahead window stays five years out.

Do I still need the couple's charts matched?

Yes. This is the general shubh calendar - it says which days the panchang allows. A family astrologer then narrows to the day and lagna that suits both charts, checks the Guna Milan and any Manglik question, and fixes the exact lagna for the pheras. About the Vivah Muhurat - Marriage Dates

Vivah muhurat is the auspicious window to begin a Hindu wedding - the lagna, kanyadaan or the pheras, according to family custom. Dates are chosen when the Panchang is clean for marriage: supportive nakshatras (such as Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada and Revati, among those the muhurta texts allow), a suitable tithi, and a weekday that is not barred for Vivah. The list on this page is a planning calendar, not a priest's final ruling.

A wedding date is only one layer. Traditional matching still looks at the two Kundlis - Guna Milan, Manglik, and the 7th house - and the families still decide.
