Frequently asked questions about Vaibhav Lakshmi Vrat Puja Samagri List
What does this vrat need?
The common essentials plus a silver coin or a gold or silver ornament for the sthapana, the Shri Yantra, red cloth, kheer or white sweets, lotus or red flowers, kumkum and haldi, and the vrat katha book.
Why is a coin or ornament established?
Because the katha prescribes exactly that - Maa Lakshmi is invoked into gold, silver or a coin placed on the altar, and worshipped there. A single coin is enough; the tradition is explicit that the vrat should be kept within your means and not stretched to impress.
How many Fridays should be kept?
Eleven or twenty-one, decided at the outset by sankalpa, closing with an udyapan. Buy for the weekly puja first and arrange the udyapan items nearer the end of the series.
What is offered as bhog?
Kheer or a white sweet, freshly made, offered after the puja and shared as prasad. Keep it simple and untasted before offering.
Where is the full procedure?
The story and the rules are on the Vaibhav Lakshmi Vrat Katha page, and the general order of a puja is set out in the vrat vidhi.
About this Vaibhav Lakshmi Vrat samagri list
Everything you need for the Friday Vaibhav Lakshmi vrat at home - the common essentials plus the special items like a silver coin or gold/silver ornament, kheer and the Shri Yantra.
This list gathers the basic samagri (puja materials) for the foundation of the ritual, with the English and common Hindi name of each item so it is easy to read and to shop for. Start with the common puja essentials that almost every puja needs, then add the items special to this puja. Regional and family traditions vary, so treat this as a practical starting checklist rather than a fixed rule.
This is a packing list, not the story and not the procedure. Read the katha on Vrat Katha and the steps on Puja Vidhi or Vrat Vidhi. Other lists are on the Puja Samagri index.
