About Abhijit Muhurat

Abhijit Muhurat is a roughly 48-minute window centred on local noon, midway between sunrise and sunset. Its name means "the victorious one", and it is the self-validating muhurat — when no other auspicious time is available, Abhijit is considered good for almost any new beginning, from travel and signings to purchases and starting work.

Because it tracks the real midday of each place, the window differs from one city to another and shifts through the year. The one traditional exception is Wednesday, when Abhijit is treated as void. Choose your city above for today's window, or browse the Choghadiya by city and Panchang by city directories. For a wedding or housewarming, confirm the muhurat with a qualified astrologer.
