Online Naam Japa Mala

Naam japa is the practice of repeating a sacred name or mantra, traditionally counted on a mala of 108 beads. One full circuit of the mala is one round, and the larger guru bead marks where the round begins and ends. This online mala keeps that count for you: choose a mantra, then tap a bead for each repetition.

How to use it

Pick a mantra from the list, or choose "Write my own" to enter any mantra you already practise. Tap the bead button once per repetition, or press the Space bar. The ring fills bead by bead, and when you reach 108 the round completes with a soft chime and the mala count goes up. Undo corrects a miscount, and Reset session clears the current sitting while leaving your lifetime totals intact.

What the counters mean

Beads now is your position in the current mala, from 0 to 108. Malas · session and Beads · session cover the present sitting. Malas · lifetime and Beads · lifetime carry forward across visits, so you can keep a running total of a longer sankalpa or anushthana.
