This rich and creamy Mango Banana Shake is an incredibly filling, energy-boosting beverage perfect for fasting days. Combining the sweetness of seasonal mangoes with the sustaining energy of bananas, this shake will keep you full for hours.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Mango pulp or 1 large ripe mango, chopped
- 1 Large ripe banana, sliced
- 1.5 cups Chilled full-fat milk (or chilled almond milk/coconut milk for a dairy-free version)
- 4–5 Almonds, soaked and peeled
- 4–5 Cashews
- 1–2 tsp Honey or jaggery powder (optional, adjust based on fruit sweetness)
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder (elaichi)
- A few saffron strands (kesar), soaked in a tablespoon of warm milk (optional, for a rich aroma)
The 5-Minute Method
1. Prep the Nuts and Fruits
Chop your ripe mango and slice the banana. If you haven't soaked your almonds ahead of time, you can quickly microwave them in a little water for 30 seconds to peel the skin off easily.
2. Blend Until Creamy
In a high-speed blender, add the chopped mango, sliced banana, soaked almonds and cashews. Pour in half of the chilled milk, the honey, cardamom powder and the saffron milk. Blend on high until the nuts and fruits form a completely smooth, thick paste.
3. Adjust and Serve
Pour in the remaining chilled milk and blend again for 30 seconds until everything is beautifully frothy and combined. Pour into tall glasses, garnish with a few chopped nuts or a pinch of saffron on top and serve immediately.
Vrat Tip: Adding soaked nuts like almonds and cashews directly into the blend doesn't just make the shake ultra-creamy - it adds healthy fats and protein, making this a truly wholesome meal replacement during your fast!
