What forms Kubera Yoga?

Why are the 2nd and 11th the money houses?
Because they cover the two halves of the question. The 11th is what comes in - income, gains and the fulfilment of desires - and the 2nd is what stays: savings, assets and family wealth. A link between their lords describes money that arrives and is kept.
Does it guarantee wealth?
No. It is one of the stronger wealth indications, but it still needs both lords to be reasonably strong and a supporting dasha to activate them. A Kubera Yoga formed by two weak or badly placed planets promises considerably less than the name suggests.
Which form of the link is strongest?
A sign exchange is generally read as the most durable, since it binds the two houses permanently. A close conjunction in a good house is also strong. A wide mutual aspect is the loosest of the three, though it still counts as forming the yoga.

What is Kubera Yoga?
Kubera Yoga, named after the god of wealth, forms when the lords of the 2nd house (accumulated wealth) and the 11th house (gains and income) are connected by conjunction, mutual aspect or sign exchange. It links the storehouse of money with the channel of incoming gains, so what is earned also tends to stay and grow.
The yoga is said to build a strong, lasting flow of money and assets. Such a person often has a practical gift for both earning and retaining wealth - income arrives, and the 2nd-house connection helps it settle into savings, property or lasting resources rather than draining away. Over time this can create a solid financial base.
Kubera is a 2nd-and-11th lord yoga. It is not Laxmi Yoga (a dignified 9th lord plus a strong Lagna lord) and not Vasumati (benefics sitting in the upachaya houses). Those three can stack in one chart; they still answer different questions: Kubera is the pipe between income and the storehouse. A stressed 6th or 12th can drain that pipe even when the two lords look fine. The Dasha of the 2nd or 11th lord is when the flow is loudest. Income that also settles into savings or property is the practical test - a high salary that never stays is not Kubera at work.
