What is the Gnatikaraka?
The Gnatikaraka (GK) is one of the Jaimini Chara Karakas. Among the seven planets — and Rahu in the eight-karaka scheme — it is the seventh karaka, the planet that has advanced just a little more than the Darakaraka within its sign. It signifies cousins and relatives (gnati), rivals and enemies, obstacles, litigation and disease, and the capacity for spiritual discipline (sadhana).
How it is used
- The planet that is your Gnatikaraka hints at the nature of your kinsmen and rivals, and the kind of obstacles you face.
- Its sign and nakshatra add colour to those relationships and to your spiritual effort.
- Astrologers also link the Gnatikaraka to the sixth house themes of struggle and to one's path of sadhana and discipline.
