What is a Lagna muhurat?
It is the rising sign at the moment you start the work, used as the Lagna of that act. The sign on the eastern horizon changes roughly every two hours, so a date at one city splits into a sequence of Udaya Lagna windows. This page lists those windows from sunrise to midnight on the date you pick and scores each one from your birth Lagna.
Does a recommended window mean the work will succeed?
No. A high score means the rising sign is a kendra or trikona from your natal Lagna and is mostly clear of Rahu Kalam, Yamaganda and Gulika Kalam. That is classical electional support for a start, not a promise about the outcome. A weak window is a reason to pick another hour, not a verdict that the work can never be done.
How is this different from Daily Hora or Choghadiya?
Daily Hora divides the day into planetary hours. Choghadiya divides it into eight named windows. This page uses the rising sign itself, then reads that sign from your birth Lagna. They can be combined: a good Lagna that also falls in a good hora is the usual extra check, not a replacement.
How is this different from the Muhurats date lists?
The Muhurats pages publish calendar dates for ceremonies such as Vivah or Griha Pravesh from tithi and nakshatra rules. This calculator does not pick the date. It takes a date you already have and shows which Lagna hours that day are kinder for you. Use the date list first, then this page for the hour.
Why do I need my exact birth time?
Because the score is counted from your natal Lagna, and that sign moves about once every two hours. A guessed time can put the whole ranking on the wrong houses. Place of Event is filled from your location so the rising signs are for the city where the work happens; type another city if that is wrong. If you only want the rising-sign clock for a city, the Lagna Rashi page shows your birth rising sign; this page needs it in order to rank the day.
Can I use this for a wedding or a medical start?
Use it as a first filter, then confirm. A wedding or griha pravesh still needs the family's priest, the couple's charts and the ceremony date rules. A medical start is a doctor's decision; this page only flags a dual Lagna and asks you to avoid dusthana hours. It is not a ceremony booking and not medical advice.
About Lagna based Muhurat
Udaya Lagna is the sign rising on the eastern horizon at a given place and time. It changes roughly every two hours. Electional astrology (muhurta) uses that rising sign as the Lagna of the work you are about to start: a journey, a puja, a house entry, a contract. This page lists every Lagna window from local sunrise to midnight on the date you pick, then scores it from your natal Lagna. A kendra or trikona from birth is preferred; a 6th, 8th or 12th Lagna is treated as weak for a personal start.
Purpose adds a classical tilt: fixed (Sthira) Lagnas for housewarming and property, movable (Chara) Lagnas for travel, dual Lagnas for learning and many samskaras. Rahu Kalam, Yamaganda and Gulika Kalam are marked as times to avoid; they do not cancel a good Lagna, they clip it. Abhijit around local midday is noted when it falls inside a window.
