About the Vedic Name Analyzer
The Vedic Name Analyzer reads a name the way Hindu tradition does at the time of Naamkaran (the naming ceremony). The first sound of the name fixes the Naam Nakshatra (birth star) and from it the Naam Rashi — the Moon sign linked to the name.
Naam Rashi (name Moon sign)
The 27 nakshatras are divided into 108 padas (quarters), and each pada has its own starting sound. Every 9 padas make one of the 12 rashis. By matching the first syllable of a name to this table, the analyzer finds the rashi, its lord, element, quality, and lucky associations. This is the same logic used when families choose a baby's name to suit its janma nakshatra.
Naam Nakshatra
Along with the rashi, the first sound points to a specific nakshatra and pada. The nakshatra lord and its sound family are shown so you can see which other names share the same star.
Namank (name number)
Vedic numerology adds a second layer. Each letter has a Chaldean value; the total reduces to a single name number (Namank) ruled by a planet, with its own lucky number, colour, day, and gem.
How to read it
- Naam Rashi & Nakshatra — the sign and star the name belongs to, useful for naming and matching.
- Sign lord & lucky set — the ruling planet plus favourable gem, colour, and day.
- Namank — the name's numerology vibration and ruling planet.
The Naam Rashi from a name can differ from the Moon sign of a full birth chart. This tool is for guidance and naming, not a guarantee of outcomes.
