What is Daridra Yoga?
Daridra Yoga (daridra = poverty) is a group of classical combinations in Vedic astrology that can obstruct the smooth flow of wealth. Its best-known form is the lord of the 11th house (labha, gains) falling into a dusthana — the 6th, 8th or 12th house. Related signatures include the 2nd lord (dhana, accumulated wealth) or the Lagna lord in a dusthana, malefics afflicting the 2nd and 11th houses, and the Kemadruma Yoga (an isolated Moon).
Importantly, classical texts also describe Daridra Bhanga — cancellation of the poverty yoga. When strong Dhana (wealth) yogas are present (the 2nd and 11th lords connected, benefics in the wealth houses, or wealth-house lords exalted or in their own sign), the negative yoga is neutralised. This calculator shows both sides transparently: every poverty indicator it finds, and every counteracting wealth yoga.
