Enter birth date, time, and place. Daridra Yoga is read from your sidereal (Lahiri) birth chart — the wealth houses (2nd and 11th) and their lords, the Lagna lord, and any malefic affliction or counteracting Dhana (wealth) yoga.

Use the exact birth time with correct AM/PM — the Lagna and house lords depend on it.

What is Daridra Yoga?

Daridra Yoga (daridra = poverty) is a group of classical combinations in Vedic astrology that can obstruct the smooth flow of wealth. Its best-known form is the lord of the 11th house (labha, gains) falling into a dusthana — the 6th, 8th or 12th house. Related signatures include the 2nd lord (dhana, accumulated wealth) or the Lagna lord in a dusthana, malefics afflicting the 2nd and 11th houses, and the Kemadruma Yoga (an isolated Moon).

Importantly, classical texts also describe Daridra Bhanga — cancellation of the poverty yoga. When strong Dhana (wealth) yogas are present (the 2nd and 11th lords connected, benefics in the wealth houses, or wealth-house lords exalted or in their own sign), the negative yoga is neutralised. This calculator shows both sides transparently: every poverty indicator it finds, and every counteracting wealth yoga.

Treat the result as an educational screening of the chart's signatures, not a prediction of anyone's actual finances — wealth depends on effort, dasha periods, transits and a full chart reading. Enter your exact birth time and pick the city from the dropdown for an accurate reading.

Why cancellation matters most

A raw Daridra signature on its own is rarely the whole story. Because Daridra Bhanga (cancellation by wealth yogas) is so common, many charts that show a poverty indicator also carry the wealth combinations that neutralise it. That is why this tool always weighs both sides together and gives a net reading, rather than alarming you with an isolated negative placement.

Frequently asked questions about Daridra Yoga

What is Daridra Yoga?

It is a group of classical combinations that can obstruct the smooth flow of wealth — most often the 11th lord (gains) falling into a dusthana (the 6th, 8th or 12th), or malefics afflicting the 2nd and 11th houses.

Can Daridra Yoga be cancelled?

Yes. Classical texts describe Daridra Bhanga: when strong Dhana (wealth) yogas are present, the negative yoga is neutralised. The calculator shows every poverty indicator and every counteracting wealth yoga.

Does Daridra Yoga mean I will be poor?

No. It is an educational screening of chart signatures, not a prediction of finances. Wealth depends on effort, dasha periods, transits and the full chart — treat the result as guidance only.
