What is a Dwadasamsa chart?
The twelfth divisional chart (D12, Dwadashamsha). Each rasi is split into twelve parts of 2 degrees 30 minutes, counted from the same rasi. The twelve houses are read from the Dwadasamsa of the rising sign as house 1. Classical practice uses it for parents and lineage: the 4th for the mother, the 9th for the father.
Does a weak D12 mean I will have a bad relationship with my parents?
No. A planet that looks strong in the birth chart but falls to a weak Dwadasamsa tends to deliver less for parents than it appears to; the reverse also holds. That is a modifier, not a verdict. Dasha, the natal 4th and 9th lords and ordinary family life still matter. Treat a difficult D12 as a reason to look more closely, not as a curse on the parents.
How is this different from Paternal or Maternal Inheritance?

How is this different from Kundli Maker or Saptamsha?

Is the 4th from D12 my mother and the 9th my father?
They are the classical houses of mother and father in the parents chart, not portraits and not a lifespan reading. Read them with Moon (matru karaka) and Sun (pitru karaka), and with the natal 4th and 9th lords placed in D12. Same sign in D1 and D12 is an echo, not vargottama - that test is D1 = D9 on the Vargottama Planet Finder.
Why does the birth time matter so much?
Each Dwadasamsa is only 2 degrees 30 minutes of the rasi chart, so a few minutes can move Lagna or a graha into the next D12 sign and redraw every house. Pick the city from the dropdown and use the recorded time. If the time is rounded, treat the chart as provisional.
