What is a Navamsha chart?
The ninth divisional chart (D9, Navamsa). Each rasi is split into nine parts of 3 degrees 20 minutes, and the twelve signs are counted from Lagnamsha - the Navamsha of the rising sign - as house 1. Classical practice reads it for dharma and for marriage, and as the real strength behind a D1 promise.
Does a weak planet in D9 mean the promise never happens?
No. A planet that looks strong in the birth chart but falls to a weak Navamsha tends to deliver less than it appears to; the reverse also holds. That is a modifier, not a veto. Dasha, the house lord and ordinary effort still matter. Treat a difficult D9 as a reason to look more closely, not as a verdict that the work can never be done.
How is this different from Kundli Maker?
Same D9 mathematics and the same Lagnamsha as house 1. Kundli Maker is the full natal file - D1, every varga, dasha and strength tables. This page is only the Navamsha: North and South drawings, the D1-to-D9 table, pada, vargottama and the 7th of marriage.
How is this different from the Karakamsha Chart?
Different lagna. This page uses Lagnamsha. The Karakamsha Chart uses the Navamsha of the Atmakaraka as house 1. They match only when those two D9 signs are the same. Swamsha reads the flavour of the soul-sign; it does not draw the twelve houses.
Is the 7th from Lagnamsha my spouse?
It is the classical Navamsha house of the partner, not a portrait and not a timing. Read it with Venus (kalatra karaka) and, in a female chart, Jupiter. For whether a planet is vargottama, use the Vargottama Planet Finder. For the 24 nourishing padas, use Pushkara Navamsa.
Why does the birth time matter so much?
Each Navamsha is only 3 degrees 20 minutes of the rasi chart, so a few minutes can move Lagna or a graha into the next D9 sign and redraw every house. Pick the city from the dropdown and use the recorded time. If the time is rounded, treat the chart as provisional.

Navamsha (D9, Navamsa) divides each rasi into nine parts of 3°20′. The chart is counted from Lagnamsha - the Navamsha occupied by the rising sign - as house 1. Classical practice reads it as the chart of dharma and of marriage: a planet that looks strong in the birth chart but falls in a weak Navamsha delivers less than it appears to, and a planet weak in D1 that becomes strong in D9 delivers more. The 7th from Lagnamsha is the usual house of the spouse in this chart.
