How is a Rudraksha recommended by Janma Rashi?

A Rudraksha is the sacred seed of Lord Shiva. Each bead has a number of mukhi (faces), and every mukhi is governed by a planet and deity. The classic Rudraksha by Rashi rule recommends the bead of the planet that rules your Janma Rashi (Moon sign):
- Mesha / Vrishchika (Mars) — 3 Mukhi
- Vrishabha / Tula (Venus) — 6 Mukhi
- Mithuna / Kanya (Mercury) — 4 Mukhi
- Karka (Moon) — 2 Mukhi
- Simha (Sun) — 12 Mukhi
- Dhanu / Meena (Jupiter) — 5 Mukhi
- Makara / Kumbha (Saturn) — 7 Mukhi
This calculator also reads two supporting beads — from your Ascendant (Lagna) lord and your birth star (Nakshatra) lord (which may point to the 8 Mukhi for Rahu or 9 Mukhi for Ketu). The 5 Mukhi Rudraksha is considered auspicious and suitable for everyone.
How to wear it
Use a genuine, energised bead. It is traditionally cleansed and worn after chanting its mantra (for example Om Namah Shivaya and the bead’s own beej mantra), ideally on the day of its ruling planet. Enter your exact birth time and pick the city from the dropdown so your Moon sign is accurate.
