What is a Shastiamsa chart?
The sixtieth divisional chart (D60, Shashtyamsha). Each rasi is split into sixty parts of 0 degrees 30 minutes, counted from the same rasi. The twelve houses are read from the Shastiamsa of the rising sign as house 1. Parashara uses it for all general indications - the quality of the promise - and gives each half-degree a name, reversed in even signs.
Does a malefic D60 amsa mean my life will be hard?
No. A planet that looks strong in the birth chart but falls in a malefic Shastiamsa tends to deliver less than it appears to; the reverse also holds. That is a quality of the half-degree, not a sentence. Dignity, dasha and ordinary effort still matter. Treat a difficult D60 as a reason to look more closely, not as a verdict.
How is this different from Past Life Connections or Karmic Debt Indicator?
Past Life Connections is a D1 reflection on themes carried in. Karmic Debt Indicator reads Rahu-Ketu debts. This page draws the D60 chart itself. None of those pages is a past-life story you can treat as biography.
How is this different from Kundli Maker or Vimsopaka Bala?

Do the sixty names reverse in even signs?
Yes for the deities. Odd signs run Ghora at the start of the rasi through Chandra Rekha at the end. Even signs reverse that list, so Chandra Rekha sits at the start. The D60 sign itself is still counted from the same rasi, matching Kundli Maker. The two pieces are read together.
Why does the birth time matter so much?
Each Shastiamsa is only 0 degrees 30 minutes of the rasi chart, so about two minutes of clock time can move Lagna into the next D60 sign and redraw every house. Pick the city from the dropdown and use the recorded time. If the time is rounded, treat the chart as provisional. Birth Time Rectification is the place to tighten a recorded time.
