What is Sudarshan Chakra in a Kundli?
A three-lagna overlay of the natal chart. The same grahas are counted from the rising sign, from the Moon and from the Sun. Parashara treats a bhava as firmer when all three overlays support it. This page is that natal view, not Vishnu's discus as a ritual and not a yearly rotating chakra.
Can I see a North Indian chart, and what do L, M and S mean?
Yes. The overlay opens on the South Indian square, where each rasi is fixed and the badges are the house number of that sign from Lagna (L), the Moon (M) and the Sun (S). If a house is occupied in all three overlays, will the event happen?
No calculator can say that. Occupied in all three means that bhava has a graha from Lagna, from Moon and from Sun - three different signs unless those lagnas coincide. It is a support, not a date. Dignity, aspects and dasha still decide the tone. For a full reading, use Ask an astrologer.
How is this different from Kundli Maker or Hora Lagna?
Kundli Maker is the full D1, with North and South styles and a Moon chart in the varga menu. This page puts Lagna, Moon and Sun together: three North Indian diamonds, or one South Indian square with L, M and S house numbers. Hora and Ghati Lagna are special lagnas counted from sunrise, not these three natal overlays.
Is the Moon overlay the same as Janma Rashi?
It uses the same Moon sign as house 1. Janma Rashi is the Moon-sign reading. Here that sign is only the starting point for house counts. The Sun overlay likewise starts from Surya Rashi as house 1, then counts houses, which is not a Western Sun-sign page.
Why does birth time matter?
Lagna is overlay one and moves about one degree every four minutes, so a wrong time shifts every L number on the grid. Moon and Sun overlays are slower. Pick the city from the dropdown so the ascendant uses the right coordinates.
What is Sudarshan Chakra?
Sudarshan Chakra in Jyotish is a three-lagna view of the natal chart, taught in Parashara. The same nine grahas are read from the rising sign, from the Moon (Chandra Lagna) and from the Sun (Surya Lagna). A bhava that is supported in all three overlays is treated as firmer; where the three pictures disagree, the indication is mixed. This page is that natal overlay. It is not Vishnu's weapon as a ritual, and it is not the yearly rotating Sudarshana used for day-by-day timing.
Use the North Indian / South Indian buttons on the overlay. The South Indian grid keeps each rasi in a fixed cell and writes three house numbers in it: L from Lagna, M from the Moon, S from the Sun. The three North Indian diamonds show the same chart with house 1 at the top from each reference. Planets do not move. Only the house count changes. This is not Hora or Ghati Lagna, not Arudha Lagna, and not a second copy of Kundli Maker.
