Hora (D2) Chart

Your chart is saved automatically.

Hora (D2) is the second divisional chart, counted from the Hora of the rising sign as house 1. It is the usual wealth chart. Enter birth date, time and place. Fifteen degrees of the rasi is one hora, so Lagna changes D2 sign at those marks. This is not Daily Hora and not Hora Lagna.

Use the exact birth time with correct AM/PM - each Hora is 15 degrees of the rasi chart.

Frequently asked questions about Hora (D2) Chart

What is a Hora chart?

The second divisional chart (D2). Each rasi is split into two parts of 15 degrees. Odd signs take Surya hora in the first half and Chandra hora in the second; even signs reverse that. The signs follow Hora Prakash, the same D2 as Kundli Maker: a twelve-sign chart, not the two-sign Cancer-and-Leo hora used in some books. The twelve houses are read from the Hora of the rising sign as house 1. Classical practice uses it for wealth: the 2nd for accumulated money, the 11th for gains.

Does a weak D2 mean I will be poor?

No. A planet that looks strong in the birth chart but falls to a weak Hora tends to deliver less for money than it appears to; the reverse also holds. That is a modifier, not a verdict and not financial advice. Dasha, the natal 2nd lord and ordinary effort still matter. Treat a difficult D2 as a reason to look more closely, not as a curse on wealth.

How is this different from Daily Hora or Hora Lagna?

Daily Hora splits today into planetary hours for choosing a time. Hora Lagna + Ghati Lagna are special lagnas counted from sunrise. This page draws the D2 chart itself. Same word, three tools.

How is this different from Dhan Yoga or Kundli Maker?

Same D2 mathematics and the same D2 lagna as house 1. Kundli Maker is the full natal file - D1, every varga, dasha and strength tables. This page is only the Hora. Dhan Yoga names wealth combinations in D1. Vimsopaka Bala includes D2 as one weighted varga in a 20-point score.

Is the 2nd from D2 my bank balance?

It is the classical house of accumulated wealth in this chart, not a bank statement and not an income figure. Read it with Jupiter and Venus, and with the natal 2nd lord placed in D2. The 11th is gains. Same sign in D1 and D2 is an echo, not vargottama - that test is D1 = D9 on the Vargottama Planet Finder.

Why does the birth time still matter?

Each Hora is 15 degrees of the rasi chart, wider than Navamsha, but Lagna still moves from one D2 sign into the next in a few minutes of clock time at those 15-degree marks. Pick the city from the dropdown and use the recorded time. If the time is rounded, treat the chart as provisional.

About Hora (D2)

Hora (D2) divides each rasi into two parts of 15 degrees. Odd signs take Surya hora in the first half and Chandra hora in the second; even signs reverse that. The signs themselves follow Hora Prakash, the same D2 as Kundli Maker: a twelve-sign chart, not the two-sign Cancer-and-Leo hora used in some books. The chart is read from the Hora of the rising sign as house 1. Classical practice uses it as the chart of wealth and resources: the 2nd from this D2 lagna for accumulated money, the 11th for gains, with Jupiter as the natural karaka of wealth and Venus as the karaka of luxuries. A planet that looks strong in the birth chart but falls in a weak Hora tends to deliver less for money than it appears to, and the reverse also holds. This page draws the chart. It is not a score of how much you will earn, and it is not financial advice.

This page is that D2: North and South Indian drawings, a D1-to-D2 table with amsa and hora lord (Surya or Chandra), the natal 2nd lord in D2, and Jupiter and Venus as karakas. It is the same Hora as the D2 dropdown on Kundli Maker, focused here as its own calculator. It is not Hora Lagna + Ghati Lagna (special lagnas counted from sunrise), not Daily Hora (planetary hours of today), not Dhan Yoga (wealth combinations in D1), not Wealth and High Income Possibility, not the Navamsha (D9) Chart, and not Vimsopaka Bala (D2 as one weighted varga).

Enter the exact birth time and pick the city from the dropdown. Each hora is 15 degrees, so Lagna still changes D2 sign at those marks. Results are free to share or save as a PDF. Editorial pages are reviewed by Astro Arpita Nath.
